Thank You to the 9th Floor B Team I would like to take a moment to recognize the incredible care my mom received at the hospital, especially from the amazing nurses and staff on 9th Floor B. From the moment we arrived through Emergency, to the doctors, nurses, and PCAs, everyone was compassionate, professional, patient, and caring. We truly felt that my mom was in good hands. There is two nurses in particular who I would like to recognize. Her kindness, compassion, caring nature, and exceptional bedside manner stood out to our family. One was Doma ❀️and a polish ❀️which I didn’t get her name. She treated my mom with such dignity and patience, and we will never forget the comfort and reassurance she gave us during a very difficult time. Thank you 😊

Spent 7 hours with trauma in my eye with the least priority from the hospital team. "Best eye care" hospital in Toronto is far from the best: in Emergency department there is no equipment to perform the eye exam!. They sent you to the 7th floor Dr.Donald K.Johnson Eye Center after 3 hours on Emergency. And you wait there for 5 hours till the end of the day, when all patients are done, to finally see the doctor! The doctors don't really care if you can loose the vision. 8 hours altogether spent in the hospital. I got my exam at the end. Good, no damage to the main parts of the eye. But I wish it could be done faster for emergency patients...

This was my third visit to a hospital for one problem I had. Before I came here I went to st Michaels twice and It didn’t help me much after I had cyst and created a infection. The problem persisted and than I was told by st mikes doctors to get surgery I decided it wasn’t necessary and that I was gonna get help elsewhere! I am so glade I came here and didn’t listen to previous doctors and asked for different antibiotics! The intake nurses were better than here at western too! Very attentive asked the right questions as I explained my situation. They agreed that surgery may not need requirements but to see emergency doctor where they actually helped me further with resolving my issue. The doctor here MD was attentive with also recommending no surgery possibly and did on going information look up while dealing with my emergency and knew what he was doing. Better experience with doctors here and health care providers than previous hospital. If am in a emergency I will be going to this hospital. The wait may be just a tad longer through the day depending but if you need help just wait lol. Its day two of my procedure and antibiotics and the doctor did a great Job getting rid of cyst t

I came to the hospital for a scope with the bariatric unit and all of the staff were amazing. The intake process was seamless and they told me they were a teaching hospital and asked if a student could find a vein. I told them i always struggle with medical professionals finding my veins, But they were welcome to try. The staff was very friendly and professional and skilled. The student/doctor listened to me and found a vein immediately. I was very impressed with their professionalism and their skills. Going for regular bloodwork has been a struggle for me but for them, Finding a vein was seamless. The whole procedure from start to finish was impressively easy And i got procedure notes and pictures before i got home. I am very impressed with their professionalism and level of care as i come from a small town and have not experienced that level of care before. Everyone I encountered from reception to cleaning staff and everyone in between have been very welcoming and professional despite the circumstances they encountered. I would return and recommend the hospital going forward. Great experience! Thank you

I’ve passed through the emergency area here a few times, and the experience there can be intense. The environment isn’t always the cleanest or most pleasant β€” there are moments where it feels overwhelmed, especially late at night. That said, it’s important to understand the context. Emergency departments deal with extremely high-pressure situations, including mental health crises and a constant flow of patients, which clearly impacts the environment. The staff here deserve credit β€” from what I’ve observed, they’re working under very demanding conditions and handling it as best as they can. Outside of emergency, the hospital feels more maintained and organized. My interactions with the lab team have been consistently positive β€” professional, efficient, and respectful. Security is also very active, which makes sense given the volume and type of situations happening around the emergency area. Best to know: emergency can get very busy and overwhelming, especially at night. Positive note: staff across departments appear committed and hardworking under pressure. Overall, not a perfect environment in emergency, but a reflection of how much this place is dealing with on a daily basis.
