If I could give 0 stars, I absolutely would. Mount Sinai used to be a very good hospital, but what happened in the ER today was beyond unacceptable. We waited five hours in a packed emergency room while dealing with dangerously high blood sugar for several days, despite insulin, medication, and not eating. The patient was clearly unwell — headache, fatigue, no energy, no appetite — and repeatedly told the staff this. When we finally saw Dr. David Dushenski, we were told the blood test showed “nothing dangerous,” and the symptoms were brushed off. His attitude made us feel as if we shouldn’t have come to the ER at all and were somehow wasting their time. Instead of investigating or offering real help, he told us to see an endocrinologist — completely dismissing the fact that this was an urgent situation. It’s shocking and honestly heartbreaking to see what our healthcare system is becoming. The ER was full of patients seeking help, yet this is the level of care we received. We left with no diagnosis, no treatment, no answers — and the patient still feeling unwell. An absurd, disappointing, and unacceptable experience. 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

I came to the hospital at 1:00am. with very sharp abdominal pain that worsened with every movement. In the department there were only two other patients, but despite this, nothing was done until 6:30 a.m. — no tests were taken, no doctor came to see me, and no examination was performed. The doctor only saw me for the first time at 6:30 a.m. Dr. David Dushensky was dismissive and unhelpful. He showed clear frustration when my daughter was translating for me and could not understand some medical terms, and he made no effort to explain my condition. After many hours of waiting for tests and a CT scan, I was left without any updates or care. After 11 hours in pain, I started crying and asked the nurses to remove my IV because I wanted to leave without receiving help. They were only able to find the doctor on their second attempt. He briefly returned, handed me a paper, and told me to follow up with my family doctor without any explanation. I did not receive the necessary medical care during my visit and felt completely neglected.

Had a great experience in ER yesterday. Everything went smooth and quick. Facility is super clean, doctor (Lacombe) was very thorough and did his job to the highest of expectations, couldn't be happier. This er deserves a much higher rating.

I had a mixed experience here. The carr i received here was fast and efficient, but left me with uncertainties. The sequrity, the admin and the nurse at the triage before getting in to the ER arra to see the doctor were great. The only issue here was thay the space was too small and crowded, i was nervous of catching an infection because of too much proximity to pther patients. There was also a tray with blood and gases thay no one removed the entire time while I was waiting there. When I was sent to the area for seeing the doctor, a staff member proceeded bringing me to my room after some wait time (which is ok because I was sitting). But, as we were walking to my room, she stopped for 3-4 minutes to speak with another staff member about something that didn't seem urgent, while I was standing and waiting in pain. This was not very client-centered. The doctor was rushed and a bit npatient. He was not thorough in assessing me, very quickly blurted out what I should do and got inpatient/irritated when I tried to clarify. As a result, I left with partial information and uncertainty. .

I’ve visited this emergency room a few times, and so far, I’ve had a great experience. The team of nurses is fantastic, and the doctors are amazing. 🥼 Of course, you’ll find a lot of patients waiting in the lobby, including those from the street and other people who need medical attention. This is part of the downtown life, especially at night. The facility is clean and safe, and security is always on duty. 🩺👩🏽‍⚕️📈🩻
