Toronto is in Ontario, Canada's most populous province, where hot humid summers, colourful falls and snowy winters shape local life; the Greater Toronto Area, Ottawa and the Golden Horseshoe are dense enough for transit and walking, while smaller towns are car country. Getting around Toronto is easiest by car for most of the year; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-hailing apps operate across Ontario's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

We walked in hoping for a great pizza and left already planning our next visit. This Detroit-style pizza completely delivered. The crust had those perfectly crispy, caramelized edges that make this style of pizza so good, while the middle stayed soft, airy, and full of flavour. The sauce was delicious, the toppings were generous, and every bite had that perfect combination of cheesy, savoury, and satisfying. It’s the kind of pizza where you take a bite, look at someone across the table, and immediately know you’ve found a good spot. Great food, great atmosphere, and definitely a place we’ll be coming back to. If you are thinking about how much to get. The small is good for two people!

First time having Detroit-style pizza and was it ever satisfying. Definitely prefer this to Chicago-style deep dish pizzas. The pizza was just made really well with lots of great ingredients and flavours, and I liked that the crust had a little bit of crisp to it. We ordered the personal size Daddy's Favourite to share because I was intrigued by the combination of the jerk chicken, the kothu roti and the mango chutney. Just seemed like such a cool mix of different cultures and flavours. The verdict was the pizza was awesome and I would recommend it. When I eventually make my way back here I think i would probably try the Canadian pizza next, just to see the place's take on the classic.

Really solid pizza. Perfect combination of textures, portions, ingredients, flavours. Just the right amount of crispiness and cheese/sauce ratio. I’ve had Giordano’s in Chicago and I legitimately prefer Descendant. This style of pizza is very filling so probably no need to order huge quantity. Staff is very friendly. Nice chill casual environment. Limited seating depending on time/day, be prepared to potentially get your order to-go.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ As an Australian travelling across Canada, I’ve eaten a lot of good food over the past couple of months. Descendant Detroit Style Pizza didn’t just make the list, it went straight to the top. Without exaggeration, this is the best pizza I’ve ever eaten. The crust was perfectly crisp on the outside, light and fluffy inside, and every bite was packed with flavour. You know a meal is special when you keep saying “just one more bite” until suddenly there’s nothing left. Humanity has been making pizza for centuries and somehow these people seem to have cracked the code. The atmosphere was relaxed, the staff were fantastic, and the whole experience lived up to the hype and then some. More take out limited seating though. If you’re wondering whether it’s worth the visit, stop wondering and order the pizza. Future you will be very grateful. 🇦🇺🍕❤️ From one very happy Australian traveller.

Literally, THE BEST pizza spot in Toronto! 🍕 Nestled halfway between The Beaches and the Distillery District, my friend and I tried a few pies: The “No Name”, the “Truff Guy”, and “Daddy’s Favourite”. Verdict: Every pie was outstanding and had something uniquely different to them. It was my first time trying Detroit style pizza and it surpassed all my expectations! The best way I could describe it was this pillowy dough in the center with a crunchy exterior, yet light and airy. My favourite ones were the “No Name” and “Truff Guy” pies. If you’ve never had Detroit style pizza, now’s your chance to bring a friend or two and enjoy a night out! Tip: I would definitely recommend ordering the smaller-sized pies (4 squares), so you can order a few different ones and happily sample them individually, instead of the larger 8-squared ones. My friend and I did this and it worked out perfectly. I’d also recommend ordering each pie one-by-one because the tables are quite small and won’t fit 3 different pizzas, our plates, and drinks in one go. Additionally, the service was amazing and the staff were so friendly! It felt like a homey, neighbourhood spot with great vibes! Would definitely com
