Toronto is in Ontario, Canada's most populous province, where hot humid summers, colourful falls and snowy winters shape local life; the Greater Toronto Area, Ottawa and the Golden Horseshoe are dense enough for transit and walking, while smaller towns are car country. Getting around Toronto is easiest by car for most of the year; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-hailing apps operate across Ontario's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

St. Michael’s Cathedral Basilica is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places I’ve visited in downtown Toronto. The stunning Gothic architecture, intricate details, and soaring ceilings are truly breathtaking. As soon as you step inside, you’re greeted by a calm and prayerful atmosphere that’s perfect for reflection, whether you’re attending Mass or simply taking a quiet moment. Despite being surrounded by the busy city, it feels like a peaceful sanctuary. A must-visit for anyone who appreciates history, architecture, or is looking for a place of prayer and tranquility.

Very atmospheric place in downtown Toronto. The combination of historic architecture, streetcars, and modern skyscrapers creates a unique city vibe. The area feels calm and cozy even in the middle of downtown. The cathedral and its tall spire look especially beautiful against the dramatic autumn sky. A great place for a walk and taking photos.

Our recent visit to st Michael cathedral Basilica in Toronto for the Easter Vigil holy night mass was truly a blessed and unforgettable experience for our family. Attending this sacred celebration for the first time, led by Archbishop Frank Cardinal Leo, filled our hearts with deep peace and spiritual joy. The atmosphere was incredibly divine, especially with the sacred music by the St Michael’s Choir school, which added such beauty and reverence to the entire mass. The solemn rituals, the lighting of candles, and the powerful message of hope and resurrection made the night truly special and emotional. Words are not enough to express how meaningful this experience was for us. If u r in Toronto, this is a place u must visit at least once to feel the grace and serenity it offers. Grateful for this beautiful blessing 🙏🏻😊

Stopped by while wandering around downtown during my lunch break so I didn't have much time to stay long. St. Michael's Cathedral is an old and gorgeous Catholic Church reminding me of Saint Patrick's Cathedral in Dublin. Will be back soon when I have time.

That was my first time ever visiting a church. I was immediately drawn in by the architecture from the outside, and I’ve always wanted to see what the inside of a church looks like. It was so beautiful — everyone was sitting quietly and praying, and the whole atmosphere felt peaceful. I was amazed by the paintings and the details in the craftsmanship. I’m really happy I had this experience.
