Ottawa is in Ontario, Canada's most populous province, where hot humid summers, colourful falls and snowy winters shape local life; the Greater Toronto Area, Ottawa and the Golden Horseshoe are dense enough for transit and walking, while smaller towns are car country. Traffic in Ottawa peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then, and more after a snowfall. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, the province abbreviation and the six-character postal code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

St. Patrick’s Church is a place where I feel God’s presence so deeply. The atmosphere is filled with peace, and every time I pray there, I am reminded of His love and grace. It is a daily source of inspiration, and every visit fills me with deep calm and trust in God! Also, am so thankful and blessed that, in the midst of the busy day and all the work, I can step into this church and completely disconnect from the outside world. The moment I enter, I leave everything behind and connect with God. It’s a powerful, peaceful pause in the middle of my day.

Duck into here if you’re walking through Centretown...especially in winter. I stepped inside on a freezing afternoon and was greeted with warm light, incredible stained glass, and a beautifully detailed ceiling that feels almost cathedral-like. The space is calm, bright, and a world away from the traffic outside. Definitely worth a few quiet minutes.

Passed by Saint Patrick Basilica yesterday and was struck by how special this building is. I hadn’t noticed its beauty before, but seeing it up close really highlighted the stunning architecture. The exterior details and overall presence make it stand out in downtown Ottawa. A beautiful landmark worth appreciating. Update: Thank you, Father Steve. It truly is a beautiful and peaceful church, and I appreciate the warm welcome. I’ll be sure to visit again during those hours.

This is the best Catholic Church in Ottawa! Gorgeous! I love coming here for mass. The priests are all so welcoming and nice and the staff, especially the security guard, are very helpful. Would recommend.

The architecture is truly breathtaking, and the way of worship is deeply moving. I had the blessing of attending both the Good Friday service and the Easter Vigil, each lasting about two and a half hours of heartfelt worship. The Good Friday narrative was outstanding, drawing everyone into the depth of the Passion. The Easter Vigil began with a beautiful candlelight ceremony, followed by meaningful readings, a powerful Mass, and an excellent arrangement of choral music. The entire experience was nothing short of extraordinary. The solemnity, the rituals, and the spirit of the celebration were profoundly beautiful. It’s something everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime. For Good Friday, the church was completely full, so additional seating was arranged in the basement with live video streaming. It’s a good idea to arrive early to find a seat in the main church.
